Piping Design and Operations Guidebook- Volume 1 |
|
Volume 1 of this 2-part guidebook contains practical, how-to engineering articles that were originally published in Chemical Engineering.
It also contains useful tip sheets from Chemical Engineering’s “Facts at Your Fingertips” department. Volume 1 begins with a comprehensive 6-part series on piping design, operation and maintenance. Its other engineering articles provide practical recommendations related to overall system design and component selection; stress and vibration analysis; and design considerations for special circumstances, such as high-purity applications, applications handling hazardous fluids or slurries, and systems operated under vacuum conditions. Additional articles discuss the proper selection and operation of seals, gaskets and fittings, and several articles focus on safety-related issues, such as inherently safe designs, strategies to minimize gas entrainment and tips to minimize the risk of pipe bursts.
These articles were originally published between 2000 through 2012; several hard-to-find articles from the mid-1990s are included as a bonus.
