In 2007, Asia accounted for over 540 thousand metric tons of nonmetallurgical alumina consumption. China was a major consumer, accounting for about 175 thousand metric tons of alumina and alumina trihydrate. The Republic of Korea and India were other significant consumers, accounting for 159 and 98 thousand metric tons, respectively. This report profiles the industry in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Japan. Detailed information on manufacturing processes, producers and their producing locations, supply and demand by region, price and trade details are provided for 2007 with projections to 2012.
